Top Two Reasons to Go Back to TGI Friday's

MM and I had fun at TGI Friday's Bonifacio High Street during the weekend. However, we are sure to come back for two more good reasons:

Reason No. 1 - Come back on Wednesday night for Mojito Nights:

Reason No. 2 - Come back on Saturday night for Margarita Madness:

Definitely two great reasons to come back, don't you agree?

Again, sorry for the sorry state of the picture quality. If only I had cameras for eyes...

Kate as Emma and Succumbing to TGIFriday's Commercial

I spent Saturday night at MM's house after we stayed up late watching Emma, an adaptation of the classic Jane Austen novel starring Kate Beckinsale and Mark Strong. Definitely a fun watch!

On a side note, Kate seemed to have had something done to her face. Contrast 2005 and 1996:

Unless she has a magic potion from growing old gracefully? Whatever it is, I'm buying.

On another shallow note, Mark Strong had a receding hairline situation which was very distracting. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Shallow, shallow. However, per MM, this adaptation was very faithful to the novel so do check it out.

The next day, Sunday (late) morning came with perfect sunny weather. What should be done? Well, turn on the TV, of course! And the first commercial that came on was the one for TGI Friday's.

MM and I stared at each other. Fried Mac and Cheese!

Thirty minutes (or so) later, we were in Bonifacio High Street ordering Fried Mac and Cheese. Yes, we are the best subjects for those ads! Here's the proof:

Saved by the Sprain

So... I didn't go to the Tresorie sale. (Sad face inserted here.) I was literally saved from financial ruin by my sprained ankle. Since I can't drive and I'm a slave to whoever picks me up, going to Makati was out of the question. Oh well.

As for how I sprained my ankle, I think that's a topic for a whole new post altogether. Happy weekend everyone!

Surviving the Drought and the Tresorie Bag Sale

Photo from The Bag Hag

Ordinary employees know that the months between August to October are the months of "drought". What do I mean? Let me explain....

Salaried employees are happiest from November to January. Most corporations release their 13th month and/or Christmas bonus in stages during those months. Wallets are full. Celebrations are plentiful.

Thereafter, especially when you have good relations with your employers, you get your salary adjustment shortly after January. A few privileged souls also get mid-year bonuses. The happy months with extra money should last until July. Hence, just in time for the summer sales.

Then, the drought months arrive. And one has to live within the confines of one's monthly salary. Take out the income taxes automatically deducted (it hurts!) and one is seldom left with enough money for the little joys of life (bags!)

That is where I am right now.

Then, while checking out the Tresormakati website, I saw this -

Sniff. YSL Oversized Muse in Purple. Photo from Tresormakati

Isn't she pretty? In pretty good shape, I think. But you really need to see her in person. Now, the Bag Hag has just announced that they will be having a one-day sale TOMORROW, 26 September 2008!

What?! And little Ms. Purple YSL Muse is one of the bags going on sale. Double what?! Can I bear it?

Can I bear it?

To the lucky ones who are not in drought mode, the details are here.

More Hermes Odds and Ends

If money is no object, what would you buy? Apparently, some people buy Hermes gardening tools! The Spade, Trowel and Weeding Fork set with textile bag and cherry tree handles is "reasonably" priced at USD330.

What else can you buy from Hermes aside from the Twillys and Birkins?

More odds and ends after the jump...

Tea anyone? This Hermes teapot is good for two. USD375. Matching mugs and cups sold separately. After all, you may want to mix and match.

Having a quiet dinner with friends? Need to open a bottle of wine? Come prepared with this Hermes pocket leather corkscrew. USD405.

Feeling chilly? Cozy up with a Hermes wool and cashmere blanket in red. USD1175. Black also available.

Finally, do think twice about tapping your cigarette ash on this work of art:

Hermes ashtray USD500

Ok, enough daydreaming. Back to my memorandum drafting.

Hermes for Babies

Now, I admit that I am somewhat of a label whore. And yes, I can see myself clothing my future (distant, at that) babies in Baby Dior. Wait, a minute! The (distant)future mommy will need her bag love fix. So, maybe not Baby Dior.

Anyway, I was browsing through the Hermes website daydreaming when I stumbled upon this...

Hermes Baby Gifts!

Hermes Small Plush Horse USD490! Large size USD890

Whoa! That horse must have gold teeth. Hehehe.

Moving on, for the baby born with a Titanium Mastercard in her mouth, feed her using nothing but the best utensils like this Hermes Spoon and Fork Set in sterling silver for USD445.

And of course, we have these lambskin booties. Adorable. USD215. Good until 3 months.

I guess for that precious bundle of joy, some things may never be too much for some mommies. Hehehe! What do you think, Mrs. AAP?
